Description
We are seeking an individual with experience in medical imaging to fill the role of Coordinator, Cardiac Imaging Resources Core Laboratory (CIRCL). CIRCL provides specialized services related to managing imaging data for clinical care, research studies and educational initiatives. CIRCL’s scope of work includes data deidentification, quality assurance and secure storage of imaging data; and coordinating the reading and interpreting of research scans. The Coordinator role provides oversight for the day-to-day operations of CIRCL, works closely with clinicians, researchers, research teams, technical advisors, administration offices including Research Services, Clinical Research and Compliance and Finance, and other staff members at the Institute.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of CIRCL, including the following activities:
- Deidentification and quality assurance of imaging data.
- Coordinating the reading and interpreting of imaging data for research studies.
- Communications between CIRCL and stakeholders (internal and external) including study coordinators, imaging technologists, researchers, clinicians and others.
- Documentation of system configurations.
- Routine audit of imaging data.
- Provides direction, management and oversight of CIRCL technical initiatives and support.
- Works with CIRCL project team members/stakeholders to develop feasibility analysis / resource / cost estimates and prepares the project work breakdown structure from project team member input, identifying task dependencies, relationships, and the critical path, and develops schedule estimates.
- Manages Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) development and review/revisions in collaboration with CIRCL and other personnel.
- Leads and participates in the validation and quality assurance of CIRCL procedures and documentation practices.
- Ensures training of CIRCL personnel on the relevant procedures.
- Collaborates with the CIRCL Scientific Director and Advisors and liaises with Imaging Readers to ensure appropriate completion of data analysis/interpretation.
- Works in collaboration with IT and Biomedical Engineering to ensure reliable and secure hardware and software infrastructure.
- Ensures maintenance of existing hardware and software platforms and procures new infrastructure as required for CIRCL’s operations.
- Ensures that CIRCL has the appropriate resources including personnel to carry out its mandate.
- Coordinates with Manager, Clinical Research and Compliance to ensure CIRCL processes meet Good Clinical Practice (GDP) and other guidelines.
- Manages CIRCL’s budget in collaboration with Research Services and Finance.
- May be requested to provide additional technology support for clinical imaging activities if needed.
Required skills:
- Relevant and related work experience in medical imaging. Typically three (3) years of experience
- Minimum BSc degree in engineering/physical sciences fields or imaging technologist diploma/certification (3 year program College Diploma).
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking abilities to manage and monitor multiple projects.
- Experience or exposure to various imaging modalities.
- Experience in medical imaging storage systems, DICOM, PACS, and medical imaging analysis software.
- Knowledge of networking, security, and application system administration.
- Strong technical background in medical imaging.
- Working knowledge of AI applications in imaging post processing an asset
- Experience with Windows and Linux-based computer systems, medical imaging de-identification tools, and electronic data transfer protocols.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent and collaborative work habits.
