This Role The Coordinator of Connect plays a crucial role in welcoming and integrating newcomers into the life of the church community. This position focuses on creating pathways for visitors and new members to connect, grow spiritually and become actively involved in the church. This position oversees the entire process - engaging first-time visitors and helping integrate attendees into church ministries and small groups. They must be aligned with the philosophy of ministry and embrace the overall mission and vision of Pillar Church. Primary Responsibilities & Tasks Visitor Engagement: Help develop strategies to attract and welcome visitors to the church, coordinate visitor follow up and ensure timely communication. Assimilation Process: oversee how visitors connect into the church by providing clear pathways for membership and church engagement (New Here Desk interactions and workflow processes). Organize events: strategically plan initiatives aimed at introducing newcomers to the church community and ministries. (Gather Dinners and Start Here classes) Facilitate membership classes: monthly plan the teaching and training materials for the 2-week start here classes Connect Team Development & Care: Recruit, onboard, train and schedule Connect team members so they are equipped to oversee and care for the needs of members coming to the Connect desk as well as assist with the overall assimilation process. Meetings: plan intentional time to connect with visitors one on one Metrics: Maintain accurate records of visitor information and other associated data to review monthly reports in PCO Budget: Work with Connect Pastor to plan yearly budget and review and adjust EOM reports Weekend Leadership: Plan to be scheduled 3x’s a month primarily overseeing the Connect Desk, but also serving in various areas along with other staff. Strengths & Skillsets Strong commitment to Christian faith and values, aligned with the beliefs, vision and mission of the church. Ministry experience preferred, with a focus on hospitality, outreach, and/or discipleship. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect well with people from diverse backgrounds. Organizational and administrative skills, including proficiency in managing data and utilizing church management software. Leadership abilities to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers effectively. Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high-quality standards. Takes initiative and displays focus, passion and drive. Committed to growth & improvement, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and weaknesses. Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and manage time effectively Wins & Measurable Prompt and precise communication (within 24-48 hours) Timeliness of helping people navigate their way into the life-flow of the church, community and discipleship with clear and personal next steps # of Engagements in the various areas of the church Timely responses to new here card follow-up (within 24-48 hours) Attention to detail with the Start Here classes (preparation, set-up, attendance, engagement and follow-up) # of Covenants signed # of Build Team apps submitted # of Life Groups joined after completing Start here Your Team This position will report to the Connect Pastor. This position has no current staff supervisory responsibilities. Your Schedule This is a Part-Time salaried position. Weeks will consist of a 25 hour work week - including 3 weekends a month, at least one day in the office per week, and some evening events. Throughout the year there are special monthly and quarterly staff obligations where attendance is mandatory - including monthly staff chapel.
