Coordinator, Disability Employment Support Specialist
Location: Malton and Brampton, Ontario

We are currently seeking a Coordinator, Disability Employment Services to lead and support our specialized team serving clients with disabilities in the Peel Region.
This role is ideal for a compassionate and service-oriented leader who is passionate about equity, accessibility, and community impact. Position Summary
The Coordinator, Disability Employment Services will oversee the delivery of tailored employment support for individuals with disabilities, supervising a small team that includes Employment Support Specialists (ESS). This role involves actively working with a caseload of clients while supporting program coordination, staff mentorship, service quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. The Coordinator will ensure that services align with Achev’s values and meet the standards of Ontario’s Integrated Employment Services model.
The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, client-centered environment that supports both job seekers and staff in achieving their goals. This role will be mainly based out of both the Malton and Brampton sites in Peel and may require supervision of staff and occasional travel to Richmond Hill. Travel to other Achev locations in Peel, Toronto, and Richmond Hill may be required to support client service and internal collaboration where operationally required.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to a small team of Employment Support Specialists and other team members across various sites and regions.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that prioritizes accessibility and client success.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and professional development planning.
  • Ensure staff are equipped with current tools, resources, and training to deliver high-quality services.

Program Coordination and Service Delivery

  • Oversee the implementation of disability-focused employment services across Malton and Brampton locations.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure alignment with funder requirements, organizational standards, and client needs.
  • Support the development and execution of individualized employment plans for clients with disabilities.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, data entry, and reporting in organizational and funder databases.

Stakeholder Engagement and Community Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, employers, and service providers to enhance client outcomes.
  • Represent Achev in local networks and forums focused on disability employment and inclusion.
  • Promote awareness of Achev’s services and advocate for inclusive hiring practices.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance service accessibility, efficiency, and impact.
  • Stay informed of labour market trends, policy changes, and best practices in disability employment services.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in employment services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of disability-related employment barriers and inclusive service delivery.
  • Experience with Ministry Delivered Programs and outcome-based employment models (e.g., Better Jobs Ontario).
  • Proven ability to supervise a team across various sites, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in data management systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, newcomers, youth, and equity-deserving groups.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) or fluency in additional languages is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or across multiple locations as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all Achev sites required
  • Lived experience with disability or deep understanding of accessibility and inclusion is strongly valued.
