QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary degree/diploma
  • 2 years work experience in a customer service or related field.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for database systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to achieve in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount while meeting deadlines.
  • High degree of judgement and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
  • A keen interest in the organization’s mission and mandate and desire to help make a difference to people and families living with ALS.

Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Database and Donor Services, the Coordinator, Donor Services will coordinate key annual giving portfolios, including direct mail, online giving, monthly giving, tribute, memorial giving and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Entry & Database Coordination

  • Process incoming donations (including credit card transactions), complete daily batches and prepare deposits.
  • Complete daily bank deposits.
  • Generate various daily reports.
  • Maintain record-keeping procedures, returned mail/tax receipt, coding donor information, and updating the database as required.
  • Ensure timely turnaround for data entry into the database of all assigned batches with a 72-hour turnaround time.
  • Ensure all donations are filed by batch, and all appropriate backup documentation is included.
  • Manage all aspects of tribute giving, including: funeral home donation cards, tribute cards, memorial acknowledgments and special occasion giving.
  • Assist with issuing tax receipts and acknowledgment letters as needed.
  • Follow established protocols for data management to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Produce ad hoc reports as needed to assist in event and donor stewardship campaigns.

Customer Service

  • Provide excellent customer service to the general public regarding donation inquires, escalating issues as required.
  • Communicate with donors by phone and email to process donations, update information and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Monitor the general email box and respond to customer service inquiries daily.
  • Maintain donor and client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

Other

  • Attend ALS Canada events as an ambassador of the organization where required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
