General hours are 8:00 – 5:00 based on business needs. Based on business needs, hours over and above normal office hours will occur. Based on business needs, there may be hours worked on weekends and holidays. Consistent and regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

FIRSTSERVICE RESIDENTIAL WILL COMPENSATE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POSTED RANGE. THE SALARY OR WAGE PAID TO THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES. FOR POSITIONS DESIGNATED AT A CLIENT’S PROPERTY, THE SALARY OR WAGE WILL ALSO BE PREMISED UPON THE CLIENT’S DIRECTIVE. THE BASE PAY RANGE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND MAY BE MODIFIED IN THE FUTURE

Your Responsibilities:

  • Service of process: Receive all items served, determine appropriate recipient and ensure appropriate follow up ensues
  • Insurance claims: interface with FirstService managers, adjustors, brokers and advisors to ensure claims are tendered & acknowledged; following up as needed regarding coverage status
  • Receive and record outside counsel monthly invoices and maintain Excel spreadsheet which tracks deductibles and legal spend
  • Produce documents: Support discovery process by interfacing with internal staff and attorneys to plan and manage each discovery project, ensuring that documents responsive to subpoenas are identified, collected and produced on a timely basis
  • Manage litigation database. Ensure all lawsuits and claims are appropriately captured and updated
  • Manage legal documents: obtain, organize, and store
  • Support legal projects - Including research, document review, acquisitions, mergers, entity formation
  • Other duties as assigned
