POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Campus Ministry will work to support the Director of Campus Ministry and the Division of Student Affairs. This person plays a key support role in campus liturgies, retreats, student ministry events, community celebrations, and service opportunities. This role involves collaborating with various departments to enhance the student experience and address their academic, personal, and social needs. In collaboration with the Director of Campus Ministry Director, the Coordinator of Campus Ministry is responsible for the efficient functioning of the department and its spiritual support of the students, faculty and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or relevant college coursework, combined with 12 years of professional experience in ministry or spiritual leadership required.
  • 35 years of professional or volunteer experience working with youth or young adults in a Catholic parish, campus ministry, school, or faithbased organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to student affairs and higher education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student development, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in using relevant technology and software for managing student services and data.
  • Multilingual skills highly preferred

Responsibilities
  • Represents and promotes the goals of Campus Ministry at Campuswide events such as Dear Neighbor Day, St. Teresa of Avila Day, Week of Welcome and Homecoming Week.
  • Attends and assists with ministry events, liturgies, OCIA sacramental process, retreats, service opportunities, interfaith spiritual initiatives and community celebrations.
  • Organizes and communicates with the Priest/Chaplain for campuswide Church availability for Masses, Prayer Services, Rosaries, Adoration and Catholic Practices.
  • Exhibit a ministry of presence by supporting students both in school and in extracurricular activities like athletic games, performances, school dances, etc.
  • Assist with supervision of the students assigned to the office and volunteers.
  • Provides administrative support to the department, including the management of program supplies and facility needs.
  • Assist with the creation and delivery of Campus Ministry presentations related to our work, ways to get involved, and updates, announcements, and opportunities, including those for campuswide liturgies and prayer services, while also helping gather student feedback to ensure our efforts align with their needs and interests.
  • Provides Campus Ministry information for various internal and external publications such as the Avila University Newsletter, the university web page, and social media postings.
  • Lead branding and marketing efforts, including but not limited to website updates and social media management.
  • Support the planning, promotion, execution, and evaluation of a wide range of Campus Ministry programs, including Liturgical Seasons, Spiritual Life Retreats, Missionary Discipleship Pastoral Processes, Evangelization Outreach, Small Groups, Social Justice and Human Dignity Initiatives, Mission Trips, and the Service Program.
  • Coordinate committees of Catholic, nonChristian denominational, and interfaith leaders, fostering student leadership and discipleship through shared faith experiences.
  • Builds meaningful relationships and connections with students of diverse faith traditions, fostering mutual respect, dialogue, and spiritual growth.
  • May require additional hours or working a flexible schedule to accommodate weekend and night events.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.
