EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher.
• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with teaching experience in one or more Career and Technical Education program areas

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work environment is primarily inside with low noise, temperatures that are controlled and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.
• The work is light work, requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the Director of Career and Technical Education, the Coordinator works in support of a comprehensive career and technical education program. Participates in curriculum development and staff development.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the development of curriculum with teachers, industry personnel, state coordinators, and research centers

• Provide instructional leadership for Career and Technical Education programs.
• Promote co-curricular student organizations
• Review and examine new instructional materials
• Assist Director of Career and Technical Education in coordinating and implementing CTE Programs and curriculum
• Conduct and coordinate in-service training as requested for Career and Technical Educational teachers
• Work individually with Career and Technical Education teachers to improve instruction
• Provide effective public relations and communication within the program and community
• Make periodic and requested on-site classroom visits
• Serve on the Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee
