QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED;
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or closely related field;
  3. A minimum of 5 years’ of supervisory level experience in food service;
  4. A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in school food service industry;
  5. Valid Arizona Driver’s License;
  6. ServSafe Certificate;
  7. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing;
  8. Advanced computer literacy skills;
  9. Knowledge of all aspects of food preparation in a school setting;
  10. Demonstrated success with all aspects of menu planning, supply ordering, and planning for delivery of school meals.

Responsibilities

? Oversee all aspects of the business side of meal preparation across the district;
? Work closely and collaboratively with Co-Food Service Coordinator to ensure all facets of the food preparation from planning to serving are successfully implemented;
? Plan appetizing and nutritional meals which are compliant with nutrition guidelines;
? Monitor food consumption and student preferences to ensure students are offered a variety of fresh food; be willing to work with administrators to rotate items and menus to align with student preferences;
? Remain calm and work effectively under stressful circumstances to ensure all timelines and deadlines are met;
? Prepare and assist in planning to effectively use a department budget based on accurate estimates of labor needed and reconciliation of labor, supply and food costs;
? Maintain all documentation as is appropriate and complete needed reports and orders in a timely manner;
? Oversee all monetary transactions and maintain accurate records in collaboration with the Finance Department;
? Operate standard cafeteria equipment and appliances and instruct subordinates in proper use of equipment, ensure all equipment is in proper working order;
? Complete necessary ordering of products and supplies to meet budgets and nutrition guidelines;
? Work with cafeteria managers to ensure they are well trained to complete their responsibilities;
? Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, legislation and anticipate its impact on the program;
? Ensure proper compliance with all aspects of food preparation and delivery of meals, particularly with regard to sanitation, safety and appropriate employee training;
? Establish and implement application process and procedures under the free and reduced meal program to maximize program benefit and to enhance operational efficiency;
? Meet with various groups to include administrative meetings, staff meetings, school board meetings and other meetings as directed.
