Description

Randolph-Macon College is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Coordinator of Well-being and Belonging to join its Student Engagement Center (SEC) team. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Associate Dean of Students, this position works collaboratively with campus partners to cultivate a culture of care, connection, and inclusion that supports the mental, emotional, social, and physical well-being of all students. This position plays an essential role in fostering a campus environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement student-centered programs and outreach initiatives that promote holistic well-being and foster a sense of belonging across all student populations.
  • Collaborate with students, campus partners, and community organizations to build a network of resources supporting belonging, personal development, and social support.
  • Serve as an active advocate for well-being and belonging through the development of workshops, educational initiatives, and spaces that support belonging.
  • Advise student-led initiatives and organizations focused on identity, wellness, and belonging including but not limited to the Multicultural Programming Board, Pride Alliance, First Generation Student Organization, Black Cultural Society, etc.
  • Support campus-wide events and initiatives that strengthen student engagement and campus connection, including but not limited to Welcome Week.
  • Design and assess programs using research-based practices to inform strategies that enhance student belonging, resilience, and wellness outcomes.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Coordinator of Well-being and Health promotion to create a holistic student well-being, health, and belonging experience.
  • Collaborate on initiatives related to the College’s Edge program and other retention efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, plus minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in higher education, counseling, wellness programming or student affairs.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of wellness, inclusion, and belonging within a higher education context.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated cultural competence.
  • Ability to lead and support diverse student populations with sensitivity and responsiveness.
  • Experience with event planning, program development, and student advising.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and other technology tools preferred.
  • Evening and weekend availability required for programming, operations, and on-call responsibilities.
