Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative individual for the position of Coordinator, Pharmacy Compounding to develop, organize and oversee all activities related to non-sterile compounding, sterile compounding and packaging of hazardous and non-hazardous preparations. They will work with pharmacy management to ensure departmental requirements for compounding mandated by Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and Accreditation Canada are met while supporting the Manager, Pharmacy Operations with day-to-day activities of the pharmacy (e.g. scheduling, sick replacement) and the recruitment processes.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, with current Certificate of Registration as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Successful completion of a third-party evaluation/certification in sterile compounding is required. Preference will be given to candidates with additional specialized training in, maintained up-to-date knowledge of, and ability to demonstrate the required competencies in the compounding of sterile and non-sterile preparations.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in Sterile Compounding Practices within a health care environment. Experience in the technical aspects of a hospital pharmacy distribution system is preferred.
