The Faculty of Arts and Sciences is seeking a dynamic Coordinator for Design-Lab (D-Lab), an innovation hub that builds creative confidence and drives impactful problem-solving. The coordinator will contribute to designing and delivering learning experiences, support partnerships and collaborations, manage day-to-day operations, and organize and curate events across a wide range of innovation and making activities. Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Coordinator for Design Lab (D-Lab) for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for: Coordinating daily operations of D-Lab, ensuring smooth functioning of the space and activities. Supporting the design, planning, and delivery of workshops, training, and learning experiences. Facilitating partnerships and collaborations with internal teams, faculty, students, and external stakeholders. Providing logistical and administrative support for ongoing programs and innovative activities. Maintaining records, documentation, and communication related to D-Lab initiatives. Assisting students and faculty using the space by guiding them on processes, tools, and resources. Monitoring inventory, supplies, and equipment upkeep in collaboration with relevant departments. Contributing to content creation for internal communication or stakeholder updates (if applicable). Organizing and curate events such as showcases, exhibitions, talks, hackathons, and innovation challenges. Supporting strategic projects or thematic initiatives launched each semester. Assisting in onboarding interns, volunteers, or student teams supporting D-Lab activities. Gathering feedback through surveys or reflections to improve programs and user experience. Contributing to semesterly or annual reports on impact, activities, partnerships, and utilization. Participating in cross-functional planning meetings for upcoming academic cycles or community initiatives. Organizing and curate events such as showcases, exhibitions, talks, hackathons, and innovation challenges. Supporting strategic projects or thematic initiatives launched each semester. Assisting in onboarding interns, volunteers, or student teams supporting D-Lab activities. Gathering feedback through surveys or reflections to improve programs and user experience. Requirements: You should have: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an HEC-recognized institution, ideally in Education, Management, Social Sciences, or Media Studies. 2–3 years of relevant work experience in coordinating projects or programs within innovation, education, community engagement, or creative environments, with exposure to collaboration, event management, or hands-on making activities preferred. Understanding of innovation methodologies (e.g., design thinking, systems thinking, human-centered design). Familiarity with educational programming, workshops, or experiential learning environments. Awareness of community engagement, partnerships development, and collaborative project workflows. Knowledge of event planning fundamentals and program logistics. Strong coordination and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and operate independently with discipline. Creative problem-solving and a willingness to experiment and iterate. Proactive mindset with initiative and curiosity to learn new tools and methods. Teamwork, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit in dynamic environments.
