EDUCATION:

• Two (2) year post-secondary education in social services, community development, communications, or related discipline and supplemented by business and technology courses.
• Equivalent experience and expertise may be considered
• Diploma/Certification in Project Management is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in administering project plans and deliverables.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in financial planning including budget reconciliation.
• Minimum one (2) years of experience working with the non-profit sector and/or with community-development related initiatives.
• Experience working with the Community-Based Seniors’ Services (CBSS) sector and knowledge of the seniors’ issues.

SKILLS:

• Expert level skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Zoom, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite - Excel testing may be required
• Strong project management and business process development and implementation skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience in copy writing and content development considered an asset.
• Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills in person and virtually; ability to manage web conferencing platforms and virtual event management experiences.
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks without ongoing direction
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• High attention to detail and ability to learn new systems and tools while embracing change and program iteration.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to meet assigned objectives by adapting and modifying the sequence of work, methods and standards to meet changing controlling conditions
• Proficiency in English grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Ability to compose clear, concise correspondence and reports and to draft more complex correspondence
• Additional languages are an asset
• Ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions
• A broad understanding of the dynamics/roles/sensitivities of working with volunteer partners at the community level
• Knowledge of and commitment to community development principles and approaches.
• Familiarity with the not-for profit sector is required

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the guidance of the Director, Healthy Aging, this position provides comprehensive operational and project management support for the Healthy Aging portfolio. Key responsibilities include overseeing project timelines and deliverables, budget tracking and reconciliation, task management, and maintaining regular communication with the Healthy Aging team and network. The role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional organizational support and fostering collaborative relationships, both internally and externally.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitates the relationships between community stakeholders and Healthy Aging programs
• Supports regular program and operations of the Healthy Aging portfolio.
• Provides operational and technical support for Healthy Aging projects and programs, including monitoring project progress to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications.
• Coordinates project timelines and ensures that project deliverables are completed on time.
• Supports detailed reconciliation of a multi-million dollar budget, including keeping detailed spreadsheets and accounts of program expenditures.
• Maintains comprehensive project documentation, ensuring that all project files are organized and accessible.
• Ensures that projects comply with organizational policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Coordinates project teams, ensuring that all team members understand their responsibilities and deadlines.
• Drafts internal and external provincial communications.
• Creates and maintains standard documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases using a variety of software programs and online data retrieval.
• Supports the development and implementation of systems, policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure needs of the community, government partners, and cross departmental needs are met.
• Fosters a collaborative working environment by facilitating meetings, discussions, and feedback loops among stakeholders. Supports program evaluation and reporting to continuously refine processes to enhance effectiveness of Healthy Aging programs and services.
• Liaises with other departments and United Way BC staff as required to obtain information in order to complete tasks.

This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760. This position is at pay grade 34, which is $74,037.60 annually.
Candidates must live within 80 KMs (commuting distance) from our office as this position is currently a hybrid role and office attendance is required.
