POSITION OVERVIEW
The Coordinator, Technical Services is a key role focused on supporting in the management of Lethbridge County’s geomatics services, with an emphasis on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial data management. In collaboration with the Manager, Technical Services, this position will provide operational support across multiple County departments, assist with the creation and maintenance of GIS databases, and contribute to the delivery of mapping and geospatial services that inform decision-making and planning for County projects.
The Coordinator will utilize advanced GIS and survey technology to collect, store, process, model, analyze, and deliver spatially referenced data that is essential for infrastructure planning and construction. This includes playing a key role in the planning and execution of internal road projects, such as conducting topographic surveys, coordinating designs, managing utility coordination, and working with landowners. The role also involves coordination of the County’s gravel pits to ensure compliance with provincial regulations and managing applications for privately owned utility road and pipeline crossings (e.g., ATCO Gas, Fortis, SMRID, LNID). Additionally, the Coordinator will assist in updating and verifying the County’s asset data through field checks and data collection.
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in providing technical support services to the organization.
