This position is designed to complement external and strategic legal counsel by managing general legal matters, improving responsiveness, and enhancing operational efficiency across both corporate and practice environments. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist with excellent communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, growing healthcare organization and who partners effectively with business leaders to manage risk while enabling efficient operations. Key Responsibilities General Legal Support Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to corporate teams and practices on routine legal matters. Serve as the primary legal contact for operational questions requiring practical, risk-balanced guidance. Contracts & Agreements Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of routine commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, service agreements, consulting agreements, and amendments. Ensure contracts align with company policies, risk tolerance, and legal standards. Manage contract workflows, approvals, and execution processes in partnership with internal stakeholders. Compliance & Regulatory Support Assist with compliance-related matters, including healthcare-adjacent regulatory issues, employment-related legal questions, and general corporate compliance. Support implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate with external counsel as needed on specialized or jurisdiction-specific matters. Risk Management & Issue Resolution Identify legal risks in day-to-day operations and recommend practical mitigation strategies. Support management of disputes, claims, and pre-litigation matters in coordination with senior management and outside attorneys. Cross-Functional Partnership Partner closely with HR, Finance, Operations, IT, and Practice leadership to provide timely legal guidance in support of business objectives. Translate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders. Legal Operations Support legal intake, tracking, and documentation processes. Assist with maintaining templates, playbooks, and standardized agreements. Help ensure legal matters are handled efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with organizational priorities. Requirements Required Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law At least 4–8 years of relevant legal experience in-house or at a law firm. Strong experience handling general corporate and commercial legal matters. Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Prior in-house experience, particularly in healthcare, professional services, or a private-equity backed environment. Familiarity with healthcare-adjacent regulatory frameworks. Experience supporting multi-state operations. Skills & Attributes Practical, business-oriented judgment with a solutions-focused mindset. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
