KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

ROLE:
To prepare a clear and concise presentation for discussion and approval by analyzing various financial data provided by the applicant or existing borrower. Specifically, the Credit Analyst looks at source documents provided by the applicant to determine the ability to repay a new or existing debt. The Credit Analyst II will also help prepare department monthly and quarterly reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates loans for credit risk according to predetermined factors, such as geographical location, type, and amount of loan; records data on work sheet, including purpose of loan, balance, and repayment terms; assigns risk rating, indicating borrower’s financial strength and probability of loan repayment.
Assist lenders by analyzing financial data and communicate financial facts, interpretations, and projections verbally and in writing. Reminding lenders of missing financial documentation to complete spreads. Identifies potential problem loans and describes deficiencies.
Written evaluation of information to determine whether the request is within policy, if loan is in compliance with banking regulations, and if required documents have been obtained.
Scans and uploads all bank-wide financial documents for commercial and consumer loan requests with the exception of consumer mortgages. Works with lenders and assistants to retrieve any missing financial data needed for uploading to the bank’s core software.
Performs the initial and ongoing credit analysis to determine if the customers credit request satisfies bank policies and procedure guidelines.
Assists in regulatory, external/internal audit, and interdepartmental needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
