About the role The Material Handler is responsible for transporting supplies and finished products within the daily operations of the material handling department in the warehouse and production areas. This role ensures that materials are received, counted, stored, and distributed efficiently and safely, while maintaining accurate records and supporting production schedules. What you'll do · Receives, counts, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations. · Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, counts, and other pertinent information. · Ensures timely and accurate movement of materials. · Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy. · Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule. · Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed. · Maintains accurate inventory records and supports ERP system updates. · Collaborate with the logistics manager and production teams to ensure smooth material flow. · Conducts cycle counts and assists with physical inventory audits. · Identifies and resolves issues related to damaged, missing, or misrouted materials, reports findings to the logistics manager and quality team. · Promotes a clean, organized, and safe working environment. · Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements. · Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications · Excellent verbal communication skills · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Good math and written communication skills. · Strong understanding of material handling processes and inventory systems. · Ability to operate forklifts and related equipment (certification preferred). · Proficient with Microsoft Office Site or related software. · Efficient time management skills. · Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to 30 lbs). · Commitment to safety, accuracy, and team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred. · Minimum 2 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations. · Experience in electric vehicles or automotive materials handling is a plus.
