MEET BENEVITY

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!
As the Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations you will work closely with a team of like minded people who are at the front-lines of maintaining the ERP and populating it with accurate data. Your two main areas of focus will be closing the books (general ledger entries/reconciliations) and running the Company’s accounts payable disbursements process.

The successful candidate will embody these characteristics:

  • Natural talent for making accounting processes more efficient and effective
  • Team player who will coordinate tasks and projects to completion
  • Tech savvy systems-focused person that likes to get the most out of the tools that you work with

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Maintain the accounting of the transfer pricing regime between our various entities across the globe. This includes monitoring inter-company account relationships and working with the Treasury & Tax teams to plan settlements
  • Own the accounts payable disbursements process, working with Treasury and the AP Specialist to plan out payments in a way that is cash-effective for the company. The AP specialist is responsible for the content of the AP ledger, the Senior Accountant is responsible for forecasting and compiling the disbursements to vendors
  • Create and maintain recurring month-end close processes, including preparation of: Journal entries, supporting schedules and reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, and analysis of the company’s expenses vs. prior periods, working collaboratively with the business for variance explanations
  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation on all areas of focus following control requirements
  • Other ad hoc reporting and accounting projects as required
