As a hybrid between a media and tech company, we help music rights holders monetize and distribute their content online. With our proprietary and unique technology and our stellar team, we administer over 200,000 copyrighted works and have paid more than 10 million USD to rights holders. We are looking for a highly analytical Copyright & Publishing Operations Assistant to join our Publishing Administration team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the data that ensures our client's rights are accurately represented and accounted for across the collection societies and DSPs all over the world. Tasks The Core Mission You will be responsible for the integrity of our publishing database and the seamless registration of works worldwide. This role requires a "detective" mindset; you’ll be untangling complex ownership disputes and navigating the technical nuances of global royalty collection. Key Responsibilities Database Management: Create and maintain accurate compositions within our publishing software; meticulously update and audit publishing metadata. Rights Registrations: Manage the end-to-end registration process via CWR (Common Works Registration) and handle the importing and reconciliation of ACKs (Acknowledgments) from societies. Conflict Resolution: Resolve ownership overlaps, double-claims, and disputes within the publishing ecosystem. Spreadsheet Power User: You must be highly proficient in Google Sheets and/or Excel. We expect you to be comfortable with: Advanced Formulas, Data Cleaning, Data Comparison. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with publishing software and a solid understanding of CWR files and society portals is highly preferred. Precision & Accuracy: You have a "measure twice, cut once" philosophy. In publishing, a single digit can be the difference between a royalty paid and a royalty lost. Communication: The ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, professional updates for clients and partners.Industry Knowledge: A foundational understanding of the global publishing landscape (Mechanical vs. Performance rights, the role of PROs/CMOs, etc.). Benefits Clear Path for Growth: We are growing quickly, and your responsibilities and benefits will grow together with the company. Exciting Product: Our value proposition is unique and the reason why >90% of leads decide to work with us. Mentoring: We're bootstrapped, profitable, and in this for the long run. You will grow together with us, while learning from and working with the best. Freedom & Flexibility: As a remote-first company, we empower our team to work from wherever they want, whenever they want. If you've read that far, we should definitely get to know each other!
