POSITION SUMMARY

The Copywriter & Content Strategist will craft compelling, strategic, and engaging content that strengthens our brand, connects with our members, and drives business objectives. This role blends brand storytelling, digital marketing strategy, and creative copywriting, ensuring that every piece of content is not only informative but also memorable and impactful. They will create, refine, and optimize content that educates, informs, and inspires members—helping them make confident financial decisions while reinforcing Lighthouse Credit Union’s position as a trusted financial partner. As a key player in the Marketing Team, this role requires both long-form and short-form writing expertise, with a strong emphasis on pithy, attention-grabbing copy for advertising, digital campaigns, and member communications. The Copywriter & Content Strategist will create high-impact messaging for omni channel advertisements, including display, web, email, social media, video scripts, print, and in-branch marketing, balancing creativity with clarity to engage and inspire our audience. Additionally, this role plays a critical part in financial education messaging, distilling complex financial concepts into accessible, easy-to-understand language that empowers our members to make confident financial decisions.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding of brand voice with the ability to craft concise, high-converting messaging that resonates across multiple channels.
  • Creative thinker, skilled storyteller, and strategic communicator who understands how to connect with audiences in a way that is both persuasive and informative.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into simple, engaging messaging tailored to various audiences.
  • Proficiency in SEO writing, digital marketing best practices, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Ability to interpret detailed creative briefs to deliver exceptional work that meets organizational objectives.
  • Ability to balance creative vision with marketing objectives, delivering effective and engaging content.
  • Action-oriented, energetic and welcomes challenges. Able to be a self-starter in an entrepreneurial-like environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborates proactively and effectively with marketing team and other cross functional team members.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in copywriting, content strategy, or creative marketing.
  • Strong advertising and brand storytelling skills, with the ability to write concise, persuasive, and engaging copy.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions is a plus.
  • Knowledge and comfortability with the Agile working philosophy.
  • Familiarity or experience with the financial services industry a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Comfortable working in a Mac environment.

  • Campaign & Ad Copywriting: Crafts high-converting advertising copy for paid media, email marketing, direct mail, and promotions that capture attention and drive action.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Works closely with designers, growth marketing team members, and internal stakeholders to develop integrated campaigns that blend compelling visuals with powerful messaging. Analyzes content performance, optimizes messaging, and refines strategies based on engagement and conversion metrics.
