ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re hiring a talented Copywriter to work with one of our newest Technology services clients. OLIVER is partnering with a leading tech brand to drive innovation, education, and excellence in technology and IT, empowering IT professionals and organizations worldwide through compelling, impactful content. We are looking for people who want to work more closely with clients and brands, are entrepreneurial, and relish the opportunity to be a part of something new and dynamic.
The ideal candidate will be able to combine and translate complex technical material from different sources and concepts into stories and content that engage and resonate with target audiences. Reporting to the Editorial lead and in partnership with the client, you will create powerful and impactful social and digital content. You will need to combine deep understanding of the trends and concerns inherent to the tech industry with a varied skill set that will include copywriting, investigative research, writing, conceptual thinking, and content project planning. You will collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistency in messaging while adapting the tone and style to suit the nuances of different audience segments. The work changes daily, from producing a technical blog post one day to coming up with the “big idea” for a campaign the next day. We are looking for flexible copywriters open to doing a bit of this and a bit of that. Those with experience working alongside digital designers, content media strategists, social media managers, project managers, and account teams within a creative agency environment will have an advantage.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Write, research, and conceptualize creative, innovative content that brings readership and encourages sharing
- Write short and long form articles, social captions, headlines, banner copy, website copy
- Produce technical articles, blog posts, email, website and research reports and other written content on various technical topics.
- Repurpose existing content for different uses
- Master a variety of brand voices
- Advise on content that will powerfully connect with a targeted audience
- Work closely with clients to create strong concepts from initial briefing through to execution
- Set tone and drive creativity, working closely with the Editorial lead, content media manager, designers and strategists to ensure creative excellence
- Maintain a high awareness of relevant trending topics and news to identify content opportunities
- Present and articulate concepts to clients
- Ensure that technical content is explicit, accurate, and follows established style guidelines.
- Write content with the audience in mind, making technical information accessible to technical and non-technical users.
- Research to gather information and ensure the accuracy and relevance of technical content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical professionals to gather information and validate technical content.
What you need to be great in this role:
- 4+ years of experience in technical writing and content creation.
- Social Media Best Practices and knowledge A MUST (Paid and Organic)
- Experience writing for digital/social. Must be comfortable creating content with SEO in mind
- A powerful grasp of how content can play out across multiple mediums
- Able to use data and insight to inform creative
- A flair for words, digitally savvy and comfortable writing with SEO in mind
- The ability to think conceptually when needed. Experience working as part of a traditional creative team (designer and copywriter) would be helpful
- Demonstrated ability to combine and translate complex material from different sources and contexts into stories and content that engage and resonate with target audiences
- Familiarity with technical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in specialized writing tools and software.
- This role can be performed remotely with the expectancy of working in central timezones.
