Position Overview

• Advance Global IT Support (AGITS) is seeking an experienced On-Site Network Engineer to execute hardware replacements, cable tracing, and live migration tasks for an enterprise Cisco Meraki & Catalyst refresh project across multiple retail sites in Germany.You will serve as the hands-on technical eye and voice on-site, collaborating directly with remote bridge engineers via Microsoft Teams/TeamViewer to ensure seamless network cutovers.Key Responsibilities & Scope of WorkSite Preparation & Arrival: Arrive on-site 15–20 minutes prior to scheduled dispatch, connect with local Point of Contact (POC), and gain server room/rack access.
• Pre-Migration Audit: Perform initial visual inspection of rack layout, power, and existing network hardware. Take required "before" photos of rack and cabling.
• Equipment Unboxing: Unbox and physically inspect incoming Cisco Meraki MX68 routers and Catalyst 9200 series switches.
• Cable Tracing & Labeling: Trace, tag, and label existing FortiGate firewall, switch, ISP demarcations, and front counter/HUB connections using a label printer. Document port mappings.
• Hardware Swap & Patching: Work side-by-side with remote Presidio bridge engineers to decommission existing equipment, rack new Cisco hardware, and execute patch cord cutovers.
• Remote Bridge Support: Maintain active connection to the technical conference bridge (MS Teams) via personal smartphone hotspot or laptop internet. Provide console cable access to remote engineers as requested.
• Post-Migration Audit & SVR: Verify post-cutover connectivity, take clear "after" photos of the finished rack, complete the Site Visit Report (SVR), and obtain sign-off from the on-site POC.
• Required Tools & EquipmentWindows Laptop (Licensed Windows OS) with native RJ45 Ethernet port or tested USB-to-RJ45 adapter.
• Personal internet connectivity (Mobile Hotspot) for conference bridge access.
• 2x Console Cables (Primary & tested spare console cable).
• Portable Label Maker with tape.
• Standard technician hand tool kit (screwdrivers, cable ties, snips).
• Remote support software installed and tested (Microsoft Teams / TeamViewer).
• Qualifications & RequirementsProven experience in hands-on field service, structured cabling, rack elevation, and enterprise network hardware cutovers (Cisco Meraki, Catalyst, Fortinet).
• Solid understanding of ISP demarcations, patch panels, and port-mapping procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (German language skills are a plus).
• Ability to work independently under live remote direction.
