CORE PAYMENTS OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

About Satispay
Satispay was born to revolutionise everyday payments – making them simple, fair, and accessible to everyone. Now, the focus has moved even further, aiming to shape the future of money.
We’re a movement empowering millions of people, driven by a shared purpose to tackle big challenges. And we’re just getting started. We move quickly, think boldly, and trust each other to challenge the norm, learning and growing as we go.
If you’re looking for more than just your next job – if you want to build something impactful with a talented team – you’re in the right place.
What you’ll be doing

As a Core Payments Operations Specialist, you will ensure the smooth flow of interbank and card operations. You’ll take ownership of critical payment processing functions, proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, manage reconciliations with relevant banking providers, and collaborate dynamically with internal teams and external partners to enhance our payment systems. This role is key to overseeing and continuously improving our electronic money reconciliation system, ensuring data integrity, and acting as a vital liaison to analyze and communicate the operational impact of new initiatives across the business. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Oversee Interbank Payment Flows – Proactively monitor SEPA and other interbank payment mechanisms, swiftly identifying and mitigating operational risks, delays, or inefficiencies, and analyzing system alerts to ensure processing continuity and stability.
  • Contribute to New Feature Development – Support the design and optimisation of flow of funds models, identifying scalable and regulatory-compliant structures in collaboration with Product, Finance and Tech teams.
  • Manage Partner Relationships – Act as a point of contact for key banking and payment partners, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution and coordination of strategic improvements.
  • Lead E-Money Reconciliation – Oversee the electronic money reconciliation process within designated systems, ensuring data integrity through prompt discrepancy resolution. Analyze the operational impact of projects and changes on e-money flows, effectively translating and communicating these implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify Strategic Opportunities – Research, evaluate, and propose innovative payment initiatives that offer tangible value, enhance efficiency, or improve the customer experience.

Expect challenges, collaboration, and the freedom to bring your ideas to life. Things change quickly here, so be ready to adapt, take initiative, and shape your role as we grow.
Who we’re looking for

We need a problem-solver with a strong analytical mindset who thrives in a collaborative environment. If you’re detail-oriented and ready to take ownership in a dynamic setting, you’ll fit right in! Does this sound like you?

  • Relevant Education & Experience – A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field is preferred. You bring relevant experience from the banking or financial services industry; direct experience within Payments, Operations, or technical support units is highly advantageous.
  • Payment Ecosystem Expertise – Deep understanding of the SEPA landscape, including its regulations, rulebooks, and specific schemes (Direct Debit - SDD, Credit Transfer - SCT, Instant Credit Transfer - SCT Inst). Solid knowledge of European Automated Clearing House (ACH) mechanisms and operational flows. Familiarity with other key bank payment processes and industry standards is essential. An understanding of the card payment lifecycle and major card scheme rules is a plus.
  • Analytical & Organizational Skills – You possess a highly structured, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset. Demonstrated ability to navigate complex workflows, prioritise effectively under pressure, and manage multiple tasks concurrently. Strong problem-solving capabilities are crucial.
  • Technical Expertise – Advanced proficiency in SQL for data querying, investigation, and analysis. Strong command of Excel and/or Google Sheets for reporting, reconciliation, and data manipulation.
  • Language Skills – Full professional fluency (both written and verbal) in English is mandatory.
