The Corporate Account Director, Northern Region is a pivotal role in delivering Ansvar's Corporate Plan, with a particular focus on our Corporate Client portfolio. You'll personally underwrite large and complex accounts across all lines of business, support business development strategies, and work closely with the Product and Underwriting management team to ensure the timely and effective management of Group underwriting referrals. This is a senior role for a technically excellent underwriter who knows how to build relationships, influence at all levels and bring genuine commercial thinking to every account. What you'll be doing Manage, direct and monitor the underwriting and negotiation of Corporate Client accounts across all lines of business, including day-to-day servicing, policy alterations and renewals, operating within assigned underwriting authority at all times. Support business development activity by providing flexible, specialised and bespoke underwriting solutions for Corporate Clients, working collaboratively with the Regional team, Corporate colleagues and broker partners. Deliver exceptional customer service to brokers, clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring queries are resolved promptly, and relationships are built on a clear understanding of each client's unique needs and risk profile. Collaborate with the Product and Underwriting team to ensure all Group Underwriting Referrals are thoroughly researched, underwritten and presented in a timely manner, with outcomes aligned to Ansvar's pricing strategy and risk appetite. Maintain and monitor the risk survey register, including tracking the implementation of requirements and recommendations and determining underwriting action when they are not addressed in a timely manner. What you'll need to have Demonstrable experience in a technical underwriting or senior corporate broking role, with deep knowledge of Property and Casualty products and exposures. A proven track record in delivering profitable growth across both short-tail and long-tail lines of business. Sound knowledge of the Australian legal and regulatory framework as it applies to general insurance, including APRA Prudential Standards, the Insurance Contracts Act and the GI Code of Practice. Confident and influential communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage stakeholders effectively at all levels internally and externally. An undergraduate degree in Insurance, Business, Finance or a related discipline, and an ANZIIF qualification at Senior Associate level or above, is highly regarded.
