Description

Epic is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join its dynamic Corporate Accounting team located in
Downtown, Toronto.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform full accounting cycle duties for assigned corporate entities, including bank

reconciliations, journal entries, billing and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for Senior Management
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Ensure that all regulatory and government returns, and reporting (monthly/quarterly

GST/HST/QST, annual returns) are filed on time

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast for assigned corporate

entities, liaising with department heads

  • Prepare year-end audit package and legal entity financial statements and liaise with external

auditors

  • Prepare income tax files for tax preparation team.
  • Prepare consolidation and elimination entries, including foreign exchange translation
  • Ensure all financial reporting procedures and processes are in accordance with agreed-upon

schedules

  • Continuously seek and recommend improvements, and assist with ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting/Business
  • Working towards a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (ASPE) and internal controls
  • Must have a positive “can do” attitude with a proven track record for meeting/exceeding

deadlines and producing accurate work

  • Well-developed ability to build respectful and collaborative relationships and establish rapport

and credibility within the organization

  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines under

pressure

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize work and concurrently manage

multiple tasks, projects and deadlines with attention to detail, timelines and budgets

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and computerized accounting systems
  • Experience in and knowledge of Yardi an asset
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally, in the English language
  • Must be self-motivated, possess strong organizational and analytical skills and have the desire

to learn
