KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years experience with general accounting or full-cycle month-end close process
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks
  • Previous experience with Procore is nice to have
  • Exposure to or experience in real estate is an asset
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, vendors accounts, and balance sheet schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE/IFRS standards and real estate industry practices.
  • Process vendor invoices and match purchase orders, contracts, and payment certificates.
  • Prepare EFTs, wire transfers, and payments runs on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain vendors accounts and respond to inquiries.
  • Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger; prepare AP aging reports.
  • Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and year-end audit support
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly general accounting responsibilities for corporate entities,
  • Employee expense reimbursements & visa statement reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting deliverables including financial statements in accordance with ASPE/IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with HST/GST rules and claim input tax credits accurately.
  • Assist with providing documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with various special projects and process improvement initiatives within the corporate accounting function
