We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a leading government contractor supporting the DOD in Arlington, VA on a direct hire basis. This person will be responsible for assisting in financial statement preparation, performing account reconciliations, supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, conducting audits, and providing financial information for decision-making processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Proficient in accounting software (knowledge of NetSuite is a plus)
  • Strong MS Excel skills is a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor management, and customer billing
  • Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial information and support for business decision-making processes
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance
  • Contribute to process improvements and recommend efficiencies within the accounting department
