Responsibilities Record journal entries, including all supporting calculations Assist in completion of the daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations Complete select monthly account reconciliations Record amortization of intangible assets and create quarterly summary Record of equity accounting revolving around distribution of funds Journal entry completeness tie-out Project work including process and system enhancement Shadowing opportunities include: External financial statement preparation Accounts payable processing Development Accounting Financial planning & analysis reporting (Budgeting) Requirements Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program pursuing a degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Experience in multifamily housing: both market rate and affordable (LIHTC & workforce) is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs required. Candidate must be a strong collaborator and a self-starter. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary. Must have the ability to interact with a wide range of people, both inside and outside the organization. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Able to undertake multiple projects, manage shifting priorities, and handle a strong workload. Demonstrates an entrepreneurial and ownership mindset - embraces challenges, is determined to win, puts clients and teammates first, and operates with collaboration, curiosity, self-motivation, and trust. Has a high level of integrity – trusted, direct, truthful. Experience with property accounting software such as Yardi or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
