Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s general accounting operations, financial reporting processes, and month-end close activities. This role manages accounting staff, ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and experience improving accounting processes. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a team and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Review and approve account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules. Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and variance reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support team performance and professional growth. Partner with FP&A, tax, payroll, treasury, and operational teams on financial reporting and business initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting operations. Support ERP system implementations, upgrades, and process optimization projects. Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memos as needed. Assist Corporate Controller with research and resolution of questions. Complete other ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required or relevant experience CPA certification preferred 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management experience. Commercial Real Estate or other service industry experience is preferred In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to work with a large volume of data in spreadsheets, with knowledge of formulas and advanced functions, like pivot tables is required Experience leading a team is strongly preferred Experience with ERP systems such as Yardi and Workday is a plus Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality Ability to read and analyze financial reports High attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
