The position involves the development and execution of integrated communications, engagement, and corporate affairs strategies that positively position the City and Council internally and externally, while developing and managing strategic partnerships and building trust with the media, staff, industry networks, government, business community, and key external stakeholders.  The role also oversees media issues management and crisis communications to safeguard Council’s reputation and ensure timely, coordinated responses to emerging risks.  The role is responsible for providing strategic communications advice and support to the Lord Mayor, CEO, and Executive Team. In this role you will:  * Develop and deliver Council’s corporate affairs strategy across media, corporate communications, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy activities. * Build strong media relationships, increase positive media coverage, monitor reputational risks, and lead media issues management and crisis communication responses. * Lead engagement with businesses, industry groups, key stakeholders, and strategic partners to support Council priorities, strengthen relationships, and enhance Council’s influence and reputation. * Deliver high-level communications advice to the Lord Mayor, CEO, and Executive Team, lead internal communications and training initiatives, and foster innovation and best-practice corporate affairs across the organisation.
