Description:
At O’Connor Zanardo Professional Corporation (A KPA Group Law Firm) we’re looking for a talented Associate Lawyer to join our thriving team. Drawing on expertise and analytical reasoning, the Associate Lawyer will provide sophisticated and tailored legal advice and assistance — helping people with varying degrees of legal knowledge grasp complex concepts to make better-informed decisions. REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Notarial certificate is not mandatory but preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in wills, probate, and corporate transactions.
- Proven track record of handling complex matters and achieving successful outcomes for clients.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining LSO regulations and operational standards
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and to clients on various legal matters, helping them understand their rights, responsibilities, and potential course of action.
- Preparing and drafting legal documents such as contracts, wills, corporate minute book documents, shareholder agreements, estate planning, and other legal instruments that are essential for various transactions and legal processes.
- Engaging in negotiations on behalf of their clients, whether it’s for business contracts, or other legal matters requiring effective negotiation skills.
- Conducting thorough legal research to analyze relevant laws, regulations, precedents, and legal opinions, ensuring their advice and actions are based on accurate and up-to-date information.
