YOUR WORK

In this role, you will:

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of a Corporate Citizenship program (sustainability, employee giving, volunteerism, corporate giving, reputation and Environmental, Social, Governance [ESG])
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for community-based organizations and/or vendors in one or more key Citizenship programs
  • Partner with communications and other business units to facilitate storytelling and elevate the company’s reputation by articulating the value of our Corporate Citizenship efforts to key stakeholders
  • Lead and/or support internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Lead and/or support program evaluation and reporting through data collection, analysis and visualization to measure impact and progress towards goals and benchmarks
  • Implement ESG internal and external impact reporting, which includes working cross functionally to set standards to support future capability needs
  • Manage and lead a calendar of reporting activities that will form the basis of ESG reporting with clear objectives, roles, and responsibilities, and integrates with data gathering initiatives
  • Drive the compilation and reporting of Enterprise Charitable Giving and Corporate Citizenship metrics via dashboards to support impact reporting, benchmarking surveys and award submissions
  • Lead the Corporate Citizenship team’s community investments and contract administration processes. Identify opportunities and implement initiatives to improve operational performance in collaboration with the Citizenship program leads, Global Business Services, Law, and Finance
  • Execute the annual corporate giving strategy including implementation of sponsorships to support high-impact events, disaster relief and executive visibility

QUALIFICATIONSYOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires deep knowledge of a Corporate Citizenship program area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • Preferred experience in corporate social responsibility, social impact, ESG, and/or sustainability roles in a reporting capacity. Familiarity in sustainability reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, GRI, GRESB, and SASB) a plus
  • Viewed as a specialist within a Corporate Citizenship program. May have broad knowledge of project management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates ability to build rapport with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to handle many tasks efficiently with a high level of detail, organization and accuracy within a fast-paced, multi-project, tight deadline environment
  • Strong presentation and writing skills that encompass clear, compelling communications with an ability to develop highly professional content-driven assets like decks, documents, spreadsheets, etc. to communicate & support findingsProficiency with the following software: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce preferred

The Corporate Citizenship team advances the company’s commitment to stand for what’s right as a socially and environmentally responsible health insurer. The Consultant, Corporate Citizenship will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Citizenship. In this role you will be delivering impact reporting of Blue Shield’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives in partnership with other business units. He/She/They will also lead the team’s corporate giving administration and contracting processes, implement sponsorships and support benchmarking and planning efforts.
