JOB SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity for a corporate clerk to join our team of professionals. At MLT Aikins, we’re looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize their work and pay attention to detail, who has excellent organizational, communication and written skills, and who excels in customer service. The ideal candidate will have graduated from a recognized legal assistant/paralegal program (equivalencies will be considered).

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Graduate of a recognized legal assistant/paralegal diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a corporate clerk role
  • Minimum CORES Level 1 certification
  • Proficiency with ALF, Appara (considered an asset), CORES and Aderant
  • Experience with BC Registry (considered an asset)
  • Ability to work in a fast-past environment
  • Team player who is willing to collaborate and assist others
Responsibilities
  • Preparing annual compliance packages monthly for Alberta, British Columbia, Federal and Extra-Provincial entities, including invoices and ISC Registers, as applicable
  • Preparing and sending out monthly reminders to clients relating to outstanding compliance packages
  • Attending to filing annual returns/reports for Alberta, British Columbia, Federal and Extra-Provincial entities with respective Registries
  • Maintaining corporate records across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance remains current with relevant legislation
  • Assisting with corporate searches across multiple jurisdictions
  • Providing general administrative assistance including basic data entry in the corporate database, physical and virtual minute book filing, ordering corporate seals, mail forwarding and file opening
  • Helping prepare documents such as change of registered and records office, change of head office address, change of agent for service, etc.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the corporate database, physical/virtual minute books and file records
  • Preparing correspondence and/or reporting to clients/agents
