Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • To manage the day to day running of the Corporate Clothing department in an efficient manner to best utilise the levels of resource.
  • Develop and build relationships with both our customers and suppliers.
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not definitive, as you will be expected to take an active part in any of the department’s operation when and if requested by a member of the Management Team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Management

  • To manage all staff within the department and to oversee the smooth and efficient running on a day-to-day basis.
  • To recruit and select staff as required in line with the department’s requirements.
  • Provide training and coaching to motivate employees to assist them in reaching both individual and departmental objectives.
  • Monitor the performance of the team, conducting reviews and appraisals offering direction and development where required.
  • Review and arrange staff annual leave applications ensuring that adequate staffing levels of the department at all times, in order that department operations are not adversely affected.
  • Ensure accurate terms and conditions of employment are in place for all employees with the department.
  • Ensure that employee attendance is monitored, conducting of return to work and absence review meetings as required.
  • Ensure all team members complete GTES learning modules as scheduled.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety audits are completed weekly / monthly.

System & Processes

  • To conduct regular assessments of the department capabilities, systems and processes to ensure the best utilisation of the level of resource available.
  • Conduct continuous assessment of the departments systems and processes ensuring that they remain effective and meaningful and Identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new systems and procedures in line with both the department and wider business needs.
  • Regularly review our delivery to promise (DTP) to ensure orders are delivered on time.
  • To take control of the management of an effective system for enquiries, orders and back orders. Filing and maintenance of all artwork and origination files.

Stock Management

  • Take responsibility for the Creation of raw material stock codes, locations and reorder levels and ensure that these are effectively maintained.
  • To negotiate and develop relationships with suppliers for products and services.
  • Processing of all damaged, lost and own use goods.
  • Effective use of buying, progress and usage reports.
  • Sourcing and supplier negotiation of alternative products.
  • Identification and action to reduce slow moving/dead stocks.
  • Conduct stocktaking annually in accordance with the company requirements.

Profile

  • To heighten the profile and promote the Corporate Clothing Department through a combination of literature and exposure to the sales network outlining the services and capabilities that can be offered to our customers.
  • In conjunction with senior management develop an effective business model for Corporate Clothing to ensure it meets targets set.
  • Conduct market analysis of competitors, including benchmarking of prices and services.
  • Increase the department’s profile within the Cromwell catalogue and other literature.

Budgets & Targets

  • To take an active role in profitably growing the level of Corporate Clothing business within the group through effective business planning ensuring that all unnecessary costs are eliminated.
  • Ensure that all costs within the department are effectively identified and recorded, continually identifying areas of improvement.
  • Along with senior management take an active role in producing future budgets and targets.
  • Monitoring of the department’s performance against agreed budgets and targets.
