Reporting to our Head of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, you’ll lead corporate communications activity for Heartland Bank Limited in New Zealand. You’ll be responsible for delivering and reporting on our external communications strategy, helping raise Heartland Bank’s profile across Aotearoa, with a strong focus on media and government relations. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring our employees and customers receive clear, engaging communications that foster connection and trust. Key responsibilities: lead the delivery of Heartland Bank’s public communication strategies, including media and government relations drive the implementation of the media relations programme manage Heartland Bank’s reactive response to media coverage proactively identify and coordinate PR opportunities provide strategic advice, review and support for customer communication contribute to the development and implementation of Heartland Bank’s internal communications strategy and plan. Does this sound like you? You bring a proven track record in corporate communications, ideally within a listed company or highly regulated industry. You’re confident navigating complexity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are known for your collaborative, proactive approach. You take initiative and are driven to deliver great outcomes. Keys to your success include: strong media relations experience with a good media network across New Zealand, and a good understanding of the media landscape experience in government relations communications activity experience working directly with senior leaders/executive team effective time management while working on multiple deliverables with deadlines an eye for detail and accuracy ability to work through issues in a logical way.
