QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an
  • emphasis in accounting
  • C.P.A. is preferred but not required
  • 5+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector
  • 4+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process
  • 3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities
  • “Big Four” or national accounting firm audit experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred but not
  • required
  • M&A finance integration experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience working with a Private Equity (PE) owned company is preferred but not required
  • Good math/numerical ability to analyze financial data for errors.
  • Strong Excel Skills (including Pivot tables, SumIfs and V-lookups)
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for highly motivated Corporate Controller who wants to grow in a fast-paced environment with an expanding Company and be a part of a winning team. Our goal is to develop this individual throughout and provide a long career path within the company. The candidate will own the annual financial audit process along with the company’s monthly financial statements. The individual will work out of our Indianapolis office, be taught best practices, and have high visibility within the organization. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit & loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The candidate will manage the Accounting team members and collaborate with them to help maintain the company’s financial health while reporting to the CFO.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and reporting functions.
  • Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly financial statement close process
  • and monthly financial reporting, along with the annual financial statement audit.
  • Supervise sales tax reporting, business license filing, and payroll processing.
  • Coordinate preparation of quarterly tax projections and annual tax return preparation with
  • assistance from third party tax team.
  • Administration of all treasury functions.
  • Assist in the monthly reforecasting, the annual budget, and monthly/quarterly shareholder
  • reporting.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures to identify,
  • Resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close
  • and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reconciliations.
  • Helps maintain the general ledger.
  • Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information.
  • Able to read and interpret agreements, then implement the relevant provisions of these
  • agreements.
  • Understanding, yet persuasive and decisive when dealing with others in the organization
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
