OVERVIEW

HomTex, Inc., is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, managing internal controls, budgeting, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational and corporate objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, preferably textile industry, with strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, cash management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in using financial software; experience in NetSuite preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of technical accounting issues.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to make a significant impact within our organization.

On-Site Requirement: This position is on-site at the manufacturing plant in order to maintain close coordination with production, inventory, and operations teams. This position does not currently offer a hybrid or work from home schedule.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Oversee all general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting activities.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure timely issuance of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit and tax compliance processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Partner with operations leadership to manage standard costing, cost variances, and production overhead allocation.

Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local, state, and federal regulations.

Cash and Inventory Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning and monitor liquidity needs.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counting, and reconciliation to minimize shrinkage and improve accuracy.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Foster collaboration between finance and operations teams for effective decision-making.
  • Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
