Description The Corporate Counsel supports the day-to-day legal needs of Hyper Solutions by managing a broad range of commercial, operational, and corporate legal matters. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and HR to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance while helping the organization move efficiently and manage risk appropriately. This is a hands-on role for a lawyer who is comfortable managing a steady flow of contracts, exercising sound judgment, and developing into a trusted internal advisor within a fast-growing, operationally complex business. Core Responsibilities Draft, review, revise, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, customer agreements, vendor agreements, master services agreements, supply agreements, purchase terms, statements of work, and software or consulting agreements Partner with internal stakeholders to provide practical legal guidance that balances business objectives with risk management Support the General Counsel on corporate legal matters, including governance documentation, entity maintenance, and internal approvals Assist with compliance-related matters, internal policies, and legal support across business functions Coordinate with outside counsel and support the management of external legal projects Additional Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and improve contract templates, fallback positions, and legal playbooks Support improvements to contract processes and legal operations Provide cross-functional legal support on day-to-day business issues as they arise Exercise sound judgment in identifying when to escalate legal or business risks Support additional legal and business initiatives as directed by the General Counsel Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school Active bar admission in Virginia or another U.S. jurisdiction Minimum of 4+ years of substantive commercial contracting experience Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and closing a high volume of commercial agreements with limited supervision Strong ability to identify legal and business risks and provide practical, actionable solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Combination of law firm and in-house legal experience Experience supporting manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, or other operationally intensive businesses Proven ability to work directly with internal clients and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice Ability to work independently on routine matters while appropriately escalating complex or sensitive issues Why Hyper? Location Remote or Onsite in Richmond, VA Compensation The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $140,000 -$165,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for a discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
