About the Role The Corporate Counsel will serve as a trusted mid-level advisor across the bank’s evolving businesses. This role includes work across the entire enterprise, including banking, lending, fintech, securities, and corporate governance. You will support a high-velocity growth plan involving modernization, market expansion, and new business verticals. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment. Provide legal guidance and support for commercial lending, loan servicing, and specialty credit products Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and transactional documents Advise on day-to-day legal and regulatory banking questions Support corporate governance, board materials, and holding-company-level matters Assist with legal aspects of fintech partnerships, payment systems, and vendor relationships Conduct legal research and prepare actionable guidance for senior counsel and executives Work directly with C-suite officers on strategic initiatives and sensitive legal matters Strengthen enterprise risk, compliance, and controls as the bank scales Operate in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment with minimal oversight Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school Connecticut bar preferred but not required (admission to at least one jurisdiction required) 3–5 years relevant experience (banking, lending, regulatory, fintech, corporate, or securities experience preferred) Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent communication skills and a practical, business-oriented mindset Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment Competitive Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Life and disability insurance 401(k) with employer match PTO, holidays, flexible scheduling Remote-friendly environment with strong work–life balance
