We now have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Development & Investment Analyst to join our Finance team in Sydney CBD or Melbourne Southbank office on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Corporate Development & Investment Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the evaluation and execution of energy infrastructure investments by providing high-quality financial analysis, transaction support and investment insights. The role contributes to informed decision-making across M&A, development opportunities and existing investments, helping ensure APA’s capital is deployed in line with strategic, commercial and risk objectives. Key Responsibilities Support the execution of energy infrastructure transactions across APA’s investment portfolio, including M&A, development initiatives and investment management activities. Perform financial and commercial analysis to assess potential investment and development opportunities, including building and maintaining financial models. Assist with due diligence activities for acquisitions and development projects, coordinating inputs from internal teams and external advisers. Help identify key transaction risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies through analysis and documentation. Prepare and update transaction materials, including financial models, Investment Committee papers and Board documentation under guidance from senior team members. Support ongoing investment management activities, including regular reporting, budgeting, planning and stakeholder updates, while adhering to APA’s governance, regulatory and safety requirements. Your background Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience supporting transactions, investments or commercial initiatives, including exposure to M&A processes, due diligence or development projects. Strong financial literacy with a keen eye for detail as well as proven capability in financial analysis, valuation and building or maintaining financial models to support investment decisions. Expert in Excel and Power Point. Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to understand business drivers, assess risks and interpret financial outcomes in a practical, decision-oriented way. Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external advisers and contribute to investment papers and analysis. Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, demonstrating curiosity, initiative and adaptability while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
