This includes strategic planning, budgeting, procurement, vendor management, installation coordination, and lifecycle/performance optimization. The role ensures that capital investments support clinical needs, regulatory requirements, financial stewardship, and long-term organizational strategy. Position will report to Chief Supply Chain Officer and work closely with contract specialists and buyers within Procurement. Strategic Planning & Capital Budgeting Partner with clinical, operational, and finance leaders to forecast equipment needs Lead multi-year capital equipment planning aligned with clinical service line strategy Develop and manage the annual capital budget, prioritizing requests based on ROI, risk, and operational impact Maintain a system-wide capital equipment roadmap and replacement schedule Procurement & Vendor Management Oversee capital equipment sourcing, RFPs, contract negotiation, and purchasing for all major medical equipment Establish capital equipment value analysis committees and processes spanning clinical, supply chain, and engineering/information technology domains Oversee equipment standardization initiatives to reduce variation and improve efficiency Evaluate vendor proposals for cost, quality, service, and technology roadmap alignment Manage vendor relationships, including performance reviews and escalation pathways Ensure compliance with group purchasing organization (GPO) contracts when applicable Project Management & Implementation Coordinate installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing of new equipment Collaborate with facilities, IT, biomed/clinical engineering, and clinical departments to ensure readiness Lifecycle Management Monitor asset performance, uptime, and maintenance costs in partnership with Clinical Engineering Develop replacement strategies based on age, utilization, service cost, and risk. Optimize fleet utilization across departments and campuses Lead decommissioning, trade-in, or resale processes Financial & Operational Oversight Conduct ROI, TCO, and cost-benefit analyses for capital requests Track capital expenditure, variances, and project timelines Identify opportunities for cost savings, consolidation, or technology rationalization Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as the primary liaison between clinical leadership, supply chain, finance, IT, and biomed Facilitate capital planning committees and governance structures Provide executive-level reporting and dashboards on capital portfolio performance Required Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, engineering, business, or related field Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in capital equipment planning, supply chain, clinical engineering, or healthcare operations, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of medical technology, device lifecycle management, and hospital operations Expertise in budgeting, financial modeling, and contract negotiation Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership abilities Familiarity with CMMS, ERP, and capital planning tools Preferred Experience: Experience: Background in biomedical engineering or clinical engineering leadership Experience in multi-hospital systems or large academic medical centers Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices Demonstrated success in standardization or cost-reduction initiatives JOIN OUR TEAM TODAY!
