POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Finance Analyst plays a key role in the evolution of the Financial Planning & Analysis team at Kruger. The incumbent will perform the financial and budgetary analysis required for various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including the analysis of consolidated budget variances for senior management and the company’s board of directors. In addition, the incumbent will also support analysis of financial performance and asset value for operational sites, development projects and acquisitions using complex financial models.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in business administration / commerce, finance or accounting.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in financial analysis and financial modeling (experience in corporate finance, corporate development, FP&A, M&A and / or capital raising processes preferred).
  • Dexterity and in-depth knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; financial modeling skills preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and financial ratios / KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with colleagues at all levels, at production sites, at head office and with representatives of financial institutions.

Responsibilities
  • Execute recurring reporting processes jointly with other team members such as:
    o Produce consolidated forecast / budget information from the consolidation system on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis taking into consideration the different accounting standards used in the company (ASPE and IFRS).
    o Consolidate financial information of different divisional systems to update forecast / budget information on a quarterly basis and ensure the integrity and quality of the consolidated information.
    o Produce reports for senior management, the Executive Committee, the Company’s board of directors, and the Audit Advisory Committee

o Support and advise divisions during the budget process, standardize, consolidate the budgeted financial data, and improve the process.

  • Continuously improve and simplify the existing reporting processes and automate them wherever possible.
  • Assist in building and maintaining top-down consolidated financial models, containing the current fiscal year and long-range forecast of the divisions and Holdco as well as valuation metrics.
  • Perform benchmarking of the divisions vs. their competitors and analyze and communicate the results.
  • Assist with the analysis related to the optimization of capital allocation and structure, and financing strategy.
  • Support activities related to optimizing capital allocation and structure, as well as new financing.
  • Support the overall M&A strategy, including evaluating potential target companies, assessing market trends, assisting with the due diligence process, and developing financial models as needed.
  • Perform ad-hoc requests relating to financial planning and analysis and special projects.
