Job Summary Provide transaction advisory support for data centre deals (acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and construction & takeout financing) Lead / contribute to financial, commercial, and technical due diligence on data centre assets Assess risk and value, helping management make informed investment decisions in the data centre sector Duties and Responsibilities Due Diligence Lead or support due diligence efforts related to finance, tax, property, utilities, capital expenditure, environmental, valuation and others as required Perform technical due diligence: assess data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, network), site feasibility, and scalability Conduct commercial due diligence: customer contract analysis, market assessment, competitive positioning Financial Modelling & Analysis Build and maintain financial models (DCF, sensitivities, scenario analysis) for data centre assets Analyse CAPEX and OPEX structures; stress-test key assumptions Debt Management & Financing Support Oversee bank debt and financing activities to support data centre growth plans Ensure timely and successful completion of debt financing for new developments or acquisitions Liaise with lenders, advisors, and internal finance teams to secure appropriate funding arrangements Risk Assessment & Reporting Identify key technical, operational, regulatory, and financial risks across transactions Prepare high-quality investment memoranda, due diligence reports, risk heatmaps, and presentations for internal stakeholders and investors Stakeholder & Project Management Coordinate multi-disciplinary deal team workstreams including (technical, legal, finance, engineering) Manage due diligence timelines, deliverables, and third-party advisors such as consultant advisors, lawyers and accountants Serve as a key point of contact for investors, partners, and internal senior leadership Post-Transaction Support Assist with integration planning and early-stage execution Person Specification Skills & Experience Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or related discipline Proven experience in transaction services / M&A due diligence; ideally with some exposure to infrastructure or data centre deals Familiarity with leverage transactions and financing structures Strong financial modelling skills; experience building / running discounted cash-flow models Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, capacity) is a plus Excellent project management skills: multi-tasking, managing cross-functional teams Strong analytical mindset, communication skills, and ability to distil insights from complex data Experience with deal documentation and investor reporting Desirable: 4-6+ years of experience from a transaction services or banking background (e.g., in a Big 4 or M&A advisory firm) Experience in technical due diligence (engineering, energy) Familiarity with data centre market trends, real estate, energy markets Additional Information In line with VIRTUS’ Vetting Policy, the successful applicant must be willing to undergo a BS7858 screening process.
