Description

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Corporate Government and Risk Officer to join the Organisational Performance Team!

  • Full time 35 hours per week
  • Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
  • Weekly pay cycle
  • Salary range $1526.67 - $1831.99 per week

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:

  • Possess a minimum of a Certificate IV in Business, Public Administration, Governance or similar, or possess substantial experience in a related field
  • Possess sound understanding of corporate governance, risk management, information management or related functions
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative role preferably governance or risk management
  • Be self-motivated and possess an ability to work independently without the need for constant supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with sound analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of and commitment to WHS principles and practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of a high standard of customer service
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports, correspondence, and advice tailored to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Responsibilities

The position is responsible for supporting Council in meeting its statutory and regulatory compliance obligations, with a particular focus on governance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management. The role will lead the development, implementations and continuous improvement of systems and processes that provide transparency, accountability, and sound corporate governance across the organisation.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
