Description Head of Corporate Security – Warehouse Distribution Piggly Wiggly Alabama Distributing Company (PWADC) seeks an experienced security professional to join our management team as Head of Corporate Security. In this key role you’d have full responsibility for safeguarding corporate physical assets, including property, inventory and equipment, and for protecting company employees at our million-square-foot, 550-employee grocery distribution facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Principal duties would include directing and managing the Security Department to provide for the physical security of our 24/7/365 facility through the deployment of a team of 27 trained uniformed security supervisors and officers. The ideal candidate will bring a strong working knowledge of warehouse and distribution center environments, including the unique security, traffic flow, and operational risks associated with 24/7 logistics operations, along with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience. In this hands-on position you’d work closely with PWADC’s management team, HR staff and our safety manager. Security monitors video surveillance and fire and refrigeration alarm systems, manages on-site truck and passenger vehicle traffic, conducts internal investigations, provides staff security education and more.

Responsibilities

The Head of Corporate Security will manage the Security Department to ensure the physical security of the distribution facility. This includes overseeing a team of security personnel and managing various security systems and protocols.
