DELIVERING GOOD ENERGY STARTS FROM WITHIN

It’s an exciting time to join Origin. Creating a great place to work means together we’re progressing our ambition to lead the energy transition through cleaner energy and customer solutions. We’re always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers – and for our people.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity for an experienced employment Lawyer to join Origin’s Legal team, where your technical expertise and experience, commercial insight and pragmatic approach will help us navigate complex work-related matters, respond to regulatory change and shape workplace culture.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with our People & Culture function, delivering legal and strategic advice across a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters. You will take carriage of matters from end-to-end, play a key role in embedding more effective and sustainable ways of working and ensuring that Origin complies with its legal obligations. This is your chance to see your advice brought to life, from strategy to resolution, while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing legal team known for its strong culture and solutions-focused mindset.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high quality legal services for people related issues arising across origin, with a particular focus on employment and industrial relations law and compliance;
  • Managing and advising on workplace investigations and disciplinary matters, performance management, terminations, contracts, legislative compliance, discrimination and other work-related issues;
  • Managing employment litigation, including at the Fair Work Commission and other State and Federal Courts and tribunals;
  • Representing Origin in employment related disputes, including conciliations and proceedings before the Fair Work Commission;
  • Educating and training company personnel to assist stakeholders to develop work practices that minimise potential legal and regulatory risk; and
  • Working closely with Origin’s People & Culture function and key business leaders to support sound, practical and commercially aware decisions.
