Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Pantry Assistant plays a vital role in managing the daily operations of the pantry and food and beverage services within the workplace. This position involves coordinating food and beverage offerings, maintaining an adequate inventory, and ensuring a consistent supply of stock at all times. The Pantry Assistant is also responsible for upholding food safety standards and keeping the pantry area organized and well-structured.
We are looking for someone who can work every Monday from 9am to 1pm.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE:

  • Replenishing stock in snack shelves/baskets as required
  • Replenishing beverage/milk stock in fridges and/or shelves
  • Placing overflow stock in storeroom
  • Placing perishable items in relevant areas (fruit, bread, etc.)
  • Keep stockrooms clean and organised, following FIFO (First In, First Out) storage practice
  • Toping up milk/beans for coffee machines
  • Supporting Lunch service (Setup / pack down)
  • Maintain accurate inventory of food items and supplies, ensuring proper storage for both perishable and non-perishable goods
  • Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen and pantry equipment, coffee machines, catering benches, pantry service area, pantry storage area and other relevant areas

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL REQUIRE:

  • Corporate experience preferred, with knowledge of the food industry, including food pantry operations.
  • Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) competency card
  • Proficient in inventory management software and MS Office applications
  • Problem-solving skills to handle shortages, compliance issues, and logistical challenges. Being able to swiftly make an educated decision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple task simultaneously
  • Outstanding communicational and interpersonal skills
  • Immaculate and smart presentation
