THE ROLE
Our work is delivered across three programme areas - corporate, investor strategies and policy - and covers a range of important topics, including net zero, adaptation and resilience, and nature.
Over recent years, IIGCC has launched a number of the most significant investor climate initiatives through the Corporate Programme. These include Climate Action 100+, the world’s largest investor engagement; Nature Action 100 (NA100); the Banks Working Group, and the Net Zero Engagement Initiative (NZEI). More recently, IIGCC has become the Secretariat for the Finance Sector Deforestation Action (FSDA) initiative.
You will join us as one of the programme managers of IIGCC’s Corporate Programme, contributing to the development and implementation of our collaborative engagement initiatives. You will be responsible for tracking the progress of company engagements, managing initiative databases and responding to investor enquiries, among other tasks. The work will involve interacting with IIGCC members and other stakeholders as well as mentoring more junior members of the team.
A key aspect of this role is collaboration with partner networks across the world, with whom IIGCC works on major investor initiatives, such as Climate Action 100+ and initiatives on nature and banking. This requires relationship building across geographies to drive shared global priorities.
You will also work on IIGCC’s own engagement initiatives in relation to climate and nature. You will help coordinate shareholder engagement to secure net zero transition plans from companies across a range of sectors and to ensure that they are appropriately taking account of adaptation and resilience (A&R) related risks.
You will be sector lead for at least one major carbon emitting sector. This role will involve working closely with investors, the rest of the IIGCC corporate team and also the other IIGCC programmes on policy and investor practices.
While this role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, we hope that the contract can be extended.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The work will comprise the following key activities:
