Position Summary:  The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the management of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the development of corporate policies to provide direction concerning acceptable quality activities or workmanship according to applicable codes or standards, weld codes or company operational policies and procedures. A consistent focus on customer satisfaction is required since customer satisfaction is essential to the success of the organization. Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Management of the Quality Management System (QMS). Lead International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 auditor. Oversee quality department personnel in multiple facilities. Complete performance evaluations on departmental team members. Organize internal and supplier corrective action reports. Lead change request committee. Manage National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and Factory Mutual (FM) audits and compliance. Handle various non-typical or international certifications. Oversee the training matrix and 30 day on-the-job (OJT) processes. Responsible for various weld codes and weld certifications. Review of work instruction releases or revisions and tests as well as writing and/or revision of work instructions and tests as necessary. Maintenance of coating and environmental coordinator controlling coating inventories, hazardous waste compliance. Maintenance of calibrated instruments and calibration logs. Responsible for the management of International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15) export lumber audits, compliance and completion of required quality records. Responsible for management of quality control activities and 6s records for the organization. Provide technical support and professional guidance as needed in the event that there are legal challenges. Provide direct and indirect support to sales or project management. Liaison between engineering and operations when clarifications are necessary. Record special product review information for tested products for coatings, sealants or gaskets. Maintain Tank Connection (TC) reference center. Provide support for document control within the organization. Develop testing requirements for current or proposed coatings. Provide exceptional leadership with solid problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset. Develop new work instructions and various operational policies and procedures for the organization. Embrace a “safety, 6s and quality” conscious culture. Contribute to and develop “team” work environment. Travel between facilities approximately 20% of the time as well as travel to suppliers, subcontractors or job sites as necessary. Most travel is expected to be domestic. May perform other duties as assigned. Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Skills and Specifications: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation and organizational skills. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google suite, etc. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to provide clear instruction of acceptance or rejection criteria. Ability to review and interpret multiple standards, codes and to comply with various regulatory constraints. Knowledge of calibration requirements. Background managing NSF and FM or other code compliance. Experience with American Welding Society (AWS) or other weld codes. Exceptional comprehension of National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC) coating standards. Have or obtain a current passport within 6 months of hire. Hold a valid driver’s license and meet TC driving criteria. Obtain certification to operate a fork truck within 90 days of employment. Obtain certification to operate an overhead crane within 90 days of employment. Able to manage multi-task work in a strong-paced environment. Able to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects. Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work. Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines. Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s (BS) degree or 10 years of experience in a related field 5 years of experience with quality management 2 years of experience as an ISO 9001 certified lead auditor Lean and/or six sigma background preferred Have or obtain MSHA training certificate within 90 days of employment Have or obtain OSHA-10 training within 90 days of employment Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Work Environment: While performing the duties of Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat.
