JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a resourceful Legal Assistant to work primarily in the Corporate/Commercial and Residential Real Estate areas of our Firm.

SKILLS

  • 2+ years experience as a corporate legal assistant with relevant experience
  • A recognized Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Diploma required
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills in Microsoft Office and legal software (Leap Legal), experience with corporate management software is considered an asset (ALF)
  • Experience working with the CORES system, CORES accreditations would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with CityOnline, SPIN, municipality tax searches, APPRES considered an asset
  • Experience maintaining corporate records such as minute books, files, seals etc.
  • General accounting knowledge and familiarity with conveyancing considered an asset
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal administrative support to a variety of paralegals and lawyers ensuring timely adherence to deadlines
  • Create and maintain legal files and corporate minute books/records database
  • Organize and assemble closing books
  • Assisting lawyers with financing transactions (lender/borrower sides)
  • Preparing reporting letters in respect of transactions
  • Provide follow-up reports to Law Firms
  • Assist in final reporting to clients and banks
  • Use Unity and other proprietary software to prepare and manage real estate documents.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual signing appointments, ensuring all legal and document requirements are met.
