JOB SUMMARY

Mohawk College is undertaking a major digital transformation through the Banner Business Transformation Project, reimagining our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Banner and related processes, to enhance the student, faculty, and staff experience.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Reporting BBT and Stream Lead Reporting, and working closely with Human Resources, Finance, Budget and Planning, Student Services and Academic management, the Corporate Reporting Analyst will serve as a key resource on the Banner Business Transformation project and develop processes/reports, methodologies, and analytical tools to support and develop each of these areas from a Business Intelligence (BI) standpoint.
Business Intelligence (BI) is a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision-making. Therefore, the BI portion of the role is to strategically implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses.
Data mining and analytics differs from BI in that it is a technique that attempts to show statistical correlation and cause between disparate sources of information or look at data in new and unexpected ways.
This position requires a thorough understanding of the requests of all the Divisions/areas of the College, so that appropriate solutions are developed and deployed. These solutions require providing reports and analytical guidance on sensitive matters related to employee, student and financial matters so it is incumbent on these individuals to adhere to corporate privacy and security policies.
